D-backs Roster Update: Ketel Marte Reinstated, Anthony Banda Recalled
Ketel Marte has been reinstated from the bereavement list after missing the last few games due to the tragic passing of his mother in the Dominican Republic. He’ll be available to play starting tonight in San Francisco, although Adam Rosales will get the start at shortstop for the Diamondbacks.
In a corresponding move, shortstop Jack Reinheimer was optioned to Triple-A Reno. He had five plate appearances during his short major-league debut stint with no hits and struck out three times.
In another roster move, LHP Anthony Banda has been recalled from Triple-A Reno and will get the start tonight for the D-backs as they kickoff their weekend series against the Giants. It’s Banda’s second start this year. He last started against the Washington Nationals on July 22, lasting 5 2/3 innings while giving up four runs on seven hits.
To make room for Banda on the roster, RHP Rubby De La Rosa was optioned to Triple-A Reno.
#Dbacks also reinstate Ketel Marte from the Bereavement List and option Jack Reinheimer to the Triple-A Reno @Aces.
