D-backs Roster Update: Infielder Jack Reinheimer Recalled, Silvino Bracho Optioned to Reno

Infielder Jack Reinheimer has been called up from Triple-A Reno to make his major-league debut and to help backfill a depleted infield for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Ketel Marte is out on bereavement leave due to the tragic death of his mother in the Dominican Republic, Chris Owings and Nick Ahmed are both on the 60-day DL.

On Monday the D-backs traded for utility infielder Adam Rosales in an effort to provide a veteran presence in the infield for the remainder of the season.

Reinheimer was drafted in 2013 by the Seattle Mariners in the fifth round. He was a part of the trade that sent Mark Trumbo from Arizona to Seattle in June 2015. Ranked by MLB Pipeline as the D-backs 25th ranked prospect, he’s slashing .283/.343/.362 this season at Triple-A Reno.

In a corresponding move, the Diamondbacks have optioned RHP Silvino Bracho to Reno.
