Diamondbacks Place LHP Robbie Ray on DL, Recall RHP Silvino Bracho
In a move that is not at all unexpected, the Arizona Diamondbacks have placed Robbie Ray on the 7-day concussion disabled list as part of their concussion protocol. Ray took a 108-mph line drive off the side of the head in Friday night’s game against the Cardinals. He had a CT scan and the results came by normal. This move is simply a precautionary measure by the D-backs.
RHP Silvino Bracho has pitched in 9 games this season for the D-backs with a 5.79 ERA and 10.61 K/9. The move helps to bolster the D-backs bullpen following a game that saw their relief pitchers throw 6 1/3 innings after Ray left the game.
