D-backs Starting Lineup: Lamb Sits Due to Soreness, Descalso at Third, Ray on the Hill
In case you missed it, Torey Lovullo initially posted a lineup that had Jake Lamb batting third. That lineup was recently changed and now Lamb is sitting. According to MLB.com beat writer, Steve Gilbert, Lamb is still sore from diving into the stands to make a catch Thursday, but he could be back tomorrow.

With that change, the two-through-five spots are now occupied by A.J. Pollock, David Peralta, Paul Goldschmidt and J.D. Martinez. Daniel Descalso will be leading off playing third base.
Once again, the hot-hitting Jeff Mathis is sitting tonight, this time in favor of the not-hot-hitting Chris Herrmann. Just how not-hot is Herrmann? He’s reached base once in his last 15 plate appearances, and that was a walk. Jeff Mathis, meanwhile, has reached base safely in 13 straight games.
Robbie ray will take the hill for the D-backs as he seeks his career-high 10th win for the season. He had a let-down game in his last outing against the Nationals, giving up five runs on six hits, but has been solid all year. He’ll look to bounce back from that outing and give the D-backs at least six solid innings tonight.
