D-backs Injury News: J.D. Martinez Leaves Game Early with Left Hand Injury, Day-to-Day

J.D. Martinez, in only his second at-bat as a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks, left the game early after taking a high 91 mph fastball off his left hand. He was in the process of checking his swing when the baseball floated up and in, hitting his lead hand instead of the knob of the bat.

According to the Arizona Diamondbacks, Martinez has a left hand contusion and the X-rays were negative (thankfully!). He is considered day-to-day.
